Flavours and traditions since 1958

Pulla-Pirtti started operating at year 1958 when Antero Räinä bought a small bakery located at Aleksanterinkatu 10 in the centre of Oulu. Soon Antero´s wife Tuulikki Räinä started working alongside him and in the 1980s their sons Hannu and Heikki Räinä came in to the business too.

Pulla-Pirtti has always been a pioneer in using the newest bakery technology. Antero Räinä´s first big investment as a young entrepreneur was a new modern type oven. Brave investment succeeded and provided growth for the next decades. In 1958 Pulla-Pirtti was one of the many small bakeries in the area of Oulu. In 1970s Pulla-Pirtti had grown as one of the biggest bakeries in Oulu.

Also rye products, loaves, piece breads and different kinds of pan loaves are part of Pulla-Pirtti´s traditional products. Pulla-Pirtti visits different kinds of bakery fairs to collect the latest information and bread trends from Finland and abroad. For example the bread called Karppinen; the first low carbohydrate bread in Finnish bread market, was developed in co-operation with Perheleipurit bakeries. Karppinen was baked in Pulla-Pirtti´s pan bread line in Raahe for the needs of entire Finland.

All breads made from Finnish crops

All products are made from domestic flours. Most of it comes from local mill Kinnusen Mylly.  Nortern Finland's clean, high quality and safe crops ensure our products delicious taste. In a year bakery uses about 2 million kg of flour, of which 80 000 kg is barley. In fact our products are local food at its best and we are proud to carry our Good from Finland -mark in our products.
